When we listen to recollections and bear witness to personal stories, we provide a forum for people to feel valued, develop connections and make meaning out of life experiences. Stories preserve history, pass down life lessons and have the power to heal people across generations. Our stories are our greatest legacies. Everybody has a story.

Romy Terkel’s passion for hearing people’s life stories led her to pursue her graduate studies at The University of British Columbia, where she completed two Master’s degrees in School Psychology and Counselling Psychology. Romy subsequently worked as a Psychological Services Provider in schools for over 15 years. Her genuine interest in hearing life stories grew into the vision of preserving them in the form of Memory Books. She started writing people’s life stories in 2006 and eventually founded her business, Fingerprints with Love, to pursue her dream full time.

We start gathering at 7 am for networking, juices, coffee and tea.

Bring cards and please be prepared to tell us about your business and let us know how we can help you build your business.  Door prizes loved and appreciated.  You are welcome to bring samples of your products to display and sell.

Accessing amazing advice as we grow is tricky. It is easy to want to save money and consume free content online to guide us as we create our programs.  The thing is, most of the programs we see online have a huge team supporting them and years of feedback and trials to get them to that point.

So what makes sense for each stage of business? What is the best place to start? How does our evolution affect our program's evolution? What should I expect next?  All great questions!

Join us at our February breakfast and hear from Patricia Dent as she walks us through these questions and many more.

Patricia Dent is the Business Mentor and owner of Grow Vantage and the Past President of the Barrie Chamber of Commerce. She applies over 30 years of business experience (from start-up to corporate) to mentor entrepreneurs. Since 2011, she has held over 4,500 coaching and training sessions in Barrie, Ontario.

Through Grow Vantage, her entrepreneurial training program, and as a business coach, she works with business owners to design, launch and grow their businesses; teaching strategies in marketing, sales, communications, and finance, and techniques to increase productivity, and manage their businesses. In other words, what entrepreneurs need to learn to grow and run their businesses successfully, grow their networks, and avoid costly mistakes. The Grow Vantage program is a study in evolution to provide relevant experience. That work includes adapting the program to an online learning environment.

Do you own your time, or does it own you?

This step-by-step and interactive workshop will show you how to maximize every minute by making #PowersMoves that have a massive impact on your business in just 30 minutes a day.

Time is every entrepreneur’s most valuable resource, but trying to “manage” it will get you nowhere. By focusing on the 3-5 small actions you need to take to achieve your goals and prioritizing tasks, you can make a big difference to your bottom line today and long-term.

This session is ideal if you want to:

    • Hit your quarterly and annual business goals instead of always feeling like you’re in the same place you were 3 years ago
    • Get more done in less time, so you can see your dreams become a reality instead of staying stuck to your vision board year after year
    • Avoid losing customers because you’re so overworked that your brain is scrambled eggs and you’re dropping balls every 0.5 seconds
    • Stop the glorification of busy and crush your goals without all the overwhelm, spontaneous stress-sobs, and cancelled social dates.

Trust is at the core of a thriving business, rich relationships and successful teams and organizations. Yet how do we decide who to trust? Common misconceptions and limiting interpretations of trust are it is based on a moral judgment, or a blind assessment prompted by a gut reaction. From this interpretation, trust is nebulous, vague and we are challenged to see how to build it, repair it and sustain it.

Learning to view trust through the lens of new distinctions provides an opportunity to learn ways in which to establish, grow and repair trust in our relationships, teams and workplace cultures. The distinctions provide a road map for creating a pathway forward; identifying key practices, actions and conversations essential for developing and maintaining trust.
